What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

I was in the shower on April 9, 2020, and I was in so much pain that I just stopped mid-shower and said to myself, “I can’t keep going on like this. I can’t take this pain!” That day I made the decision that I would take control of my health and do better.

I was inspired to keep going because I never want to be in that position of feeling defeated, trapped, and bound by my weight. I never want to be in that much pain ever again. I never want to feel like my weight is holding me back ever again.

How did you change your eating habits?

I started with lowering my calories per day to 1200-1500 a day, and on one of those seven days, I ate 1800-1900 calories. I chose blueberries, apples, and cucumbers over chips, cookies, and candy. I ate scrambled eggs with mozzarella on top with extra salsa poured over it as my breakfast (Tuscan Scramble). Some mornings, I would eat a cup of oatmeal but never both. I would either eat the Tuscan Scramble or oatmeal. Also, I was part of a Macro Counting program led by Gabrielle Flowers @GabeFixFitness on Instagram. Her program is called “Fix My Eats.
