Transformation of the Day: Camesha lost 100 pounds with healthy food and exercise. For her, this journey was about much more than the physical. As she focused on healing her mind and soul, that made the process flow much easier.
What was your motivation? What inspired
you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation to begin was the desire for happiness. I found myself drowning in unhappiness, and I knew I had to change. When I realized that my happiness was determined by me, the game changed.
My
determination to keep going developed over time, but my son and my desire to
live a better lifestyle kept me inspired!
How did you change your eating habits?
I
began by cutting out any and all types of juice, and I only drank water! In
addition, I stopped eating fried foods, sweets, processed foods, etc. I also
cut out pork and beef! I consumed lots of veggies and healthy fats.
Later
in my journey, I transitioned to being completely pescatarian. I did not follow
any specific plan or program. However, I tried a number of things to see what
my body reacted best to.
What did your workout routine consist of?
How often did you work out?
My
workout routine varied. I mostly did at-home workouts, including squats,
jumping jacks, etc. Also, walking 3-5 miles was the key for me, and this is
where I found the most success. I also incorporated some gym time for weight
lifting, but not very often. I typically work out 5-6 days per week.
What was your starting weight? What is
your current weight?
My
starting weight was 317 pounds. My current weight as of 10/26/2021 is 217 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m
5’7″.
When did you start your journey? How long
did your transformation take?
I
began the journey in June 2019, and I had some setbacks at the beginning.
However, the seriousness and 100% dedication truly started in June 2020.
Is weight loss surgery part of your
journey?
No, I
did not have any kind of surgery. This is all organic weight loss.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned
so far?
This
is the most important question. The biggest lesson I have learned is to work on
all parts of yourself collectively. When I began to work on my mindset, mental
healing, and soul healing, the work on my body was a cakewalk.
What advice do you have for women who want
to lose weight?
Find
your WHY! Also, ensure you are working on your mental and soul healing as well.
Ensuring alignment with all three facets will yield the most amazing results. I
think of it like a car; Your mind is your engine. If you don’t fix the engine,
the rest of the vehicle will not function properly.
When I
began this journey, I was simply focused on my body, which led to many
setbacks. Then, when I started healing my mind and getting in touch with
myself, my body transformation journey became very easy.
