Josephine lost 32 pounds

Josie lost 32 pounds. She began her journey in September 2020 and had some success until she had to stop working out after having surgery for a torn meniscus. The April, she got back on track with healthy eating habits and exercise. Tracking her food intake with My Fitness Pal is part of her routine.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

I read so many of these success stories, and I was inspired to get rid of this weight. In Sept 2020, I reached my heaviest weight at 187 pounds. I started walking three times a week and lost 10 pounds.

I had to stop walking because I had surgery in December for a torn meniscus on my knee. I knew I had gained the weight back, so I decided to restart my journey as of April 26, 2021. My before pictures were taken in April and May. The after picture is from today, July 24. I am currently down 32 lbs, and I’m losing tons of inches.

How did you change your eating habits?

I cleaned up my eating habits by eating much healthier. I mostly eat proteins, vegetables, and fruit (berries). I don’t skip meals or eat snacks in between meals. I also drink lots of water.

I track my meals with the My Fitness Pal app, and it really helps me stay within my daily 1200 calorie goal. I stay away from sweets, white rice, white bread, potatoes, sodas, and alcohol. My healthy eating has given me so much energy and a whole different outlook on life. Has it been easy? Absolutely not! Did it did get easier as I stayed with it?

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?

The only workout I do now (due to my knee injury) is Zumba 5 days a week.

What is your current weight?

In Sept 2020, my weight was 187 pounds. I lost 10 lbs by changing my eating habits and exercising. However, after my knee surgery, I gained it all back. I got back on track in April 2021, developed a love for fitness, and lost a total of 32 lbs. My current weight is 155 pounds.

What is your height?

My height is 5’2″.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

The biggest lesson I learned during my weight loss journey is Patience and how to trust the process. I realized I didn’t pack on the weight overnight, and I will not lose it overnight.

Also, I learned that consistency is very, very important. You have to make your eating habits and workout routine a part of your everyday life.

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?

Ladies, all I can say is stick with it and Trust the Process! You can do it.
