Transformation of the Day: Jennifer lost 71 pounds. She started her journey after being advised that she was at risk for developing pre-diabetes and high blood pressure. She shared with us how she changed her lifestyle and got results.
What was your motivation?
I
lost 70+ pounds after being told I was facing pre-diabetes as well as high
blood pressure. I was tired of feeling bloated and exhausted all the time.
How did you change your eating habits?
I
cut back on fast food, sodas, and sweets. I also started eating the right
portion sizes. I eat lots of vegetables and baked foods now.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I
started going to the gym three days a week doing Zumba and Barre classes. I
also walked every day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
At
my heaviest, I weighed around 242 pounds, and now I’m down to 171 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m
5’10”.
When did you start your journey?
I
started my weight loss journey nearly three years ago.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No,
I didn’t have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I
have learned to take better care of myself by working out and eating right.
It’s mind over matter and a choice of a lifestyle change. So I take it one day
at a time.
