I was an over weight child who quickly turned into a
morbid obese teen. At my 19th birthday I was 250 lbs, bingeing multiple times a
week, severely addicted to food, and out of control.
HOW
DID YOU GET STARTED? I cut
out ALL fast food and it was SOOOO SO SOOO HARD! As I would drive down the
street my mind would rage a war against me when we passed any restaurant. I changed my schedule at work so I no longer
worked late at night when my bingeing usually happened. I stated going to the
gym every day even twice a day.
HOW
LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS
EFFORTS? Weight loss for me
was a rollercoaster because I suffered from severe out of control bingeing
episodes. It took me years to figure
them out. When i stick to my meal plan I always see great results. It’s being
consistent and actually doing it that was the hard part of me. It took me 2
years to lose a 100 lbs. it is now 10 years and 2 babies later and I’m still
working on my health. It’s been a journey but Im not giving up. I still have
some baby weight to lose and that’s ok too.
DID
YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Alll the time. My favorite quote is “Good habits are just as bad to break as bad
habits” I can’t rely on motivation
because it come and goes. I focus on creating habits that will stick long term.
HOW
LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? It took me 2 years to lose a 100 lbs. it is
now 10 years and 2 babies later and I’m still working on my health.
WHAT
DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? Food was my comfort. Food was was pleasure
that let me live in denial.
HOW
DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? My first workouts were tae bo in my basement
and walks around the block. Got a gym membership and fell in love with Zumba. I
was the biggest girl in class.
I now am a certified fitness instructor and I have been
teaching dance fitness class at the gym for 7 year!
I went from the back of the room to the instructor. I want
my class to be a safe haven for people at any point in their journey. When I
see beginners come to my class I see myself and I always talk to them and
praise them for coming.

LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
1. Anger is an amazing
motivator! Get pissed about the problems you want to change
2. Eat a TON of veggies! If
you have an uncontrollable appetite don’t limit low cal veggies.
3. Go to bed early. Willpower
gets weaker and you get more tired
4. Find an exercise that you
Love and do it
