Sheree lost 101 pounds

Transformation of the Day: Sheree lost 101 pounds. She was determined to get off of blood pressure medication and improve her cholesterol numbers. Juicing, walking for exercise, and being aware of her daily caloric intake led to these excellent results, but consistency was the key.


My name is Sheree, and I recently hit the milestone of 101 pounds lost. It has taken 10 months. I have a goal to lose 30-50 more, but I felt like this is a big enough deal to share with the BWLW community. I found success by maintaining a healthy diet and walking for exercise 3-5 times a week.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

My younger brother, who is very into health and owns Ruby Jean’s Juicery in KCMO, was my initial inspiration. Ultimately, after reviewing my levels, my doctor specified that I technically was very healthy for my weight (340.6 pounds), but my cholesterol and blood pressure numbers were slightly elevated. She prescribed medication because the blood pressure had been an issue previously.

She also told me that if I just lost a little weight and kept it off, she could take me off the meds for the long term. This was motivation enough for me to at least start the process.


How did you change your eating habits?

I cut way down on sugar and carbs unless they were complex carbs. I didn’t use a specific program. I did juice cleanses and smoothie cleanses. I also tried Keto for one week, and that was a fail! My body no longer agreed with certain foods that Keto allows. My most successful and sustainable results have been due to me being mindful of my caloric intake.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?

I started this process in mid-Dec. 2019. I didn’t start exercising until late March 2020. Honestly, exercise was intimidating and I didn’t enjoy it. I started by walking, which I still do a lot of. I have added things to my routine like squats, ab work, light weight lifting for my arms, and Xtreme Hip Hop workouts. The walking is still my absolute preference.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?

My starting weight was 340.6 pounds on December 13, 2019. My current weight is 239.6 pounds.

What is your height?

I am 5’11”.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?

No surgery.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

I have learned that caring for oneself is the best thing you can do for yourself and for everyone around you.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?

Press!!! It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it! Your walk is not anyone else’s, so don’t compare yourself to others.

Also, it’s a marathon, not a race! Be kind to YOU and start at your pace. Regardless, start and be consistent. Consistency is your best friend.
